‘I Don’t Know Anything About It’ – Porto President Denies Deal For Telles

Well, this is the last thing Paris Saint-Germain supporters wanted to hear after news broke that a deal for FC Porto’s Alex Telles was completed.

A Bola, a Portuguese publication, reported on Tuesday that Telles “will play for PSG next season” and that a deal “has been closed in the last few hours.”

That reported was rebuffed by Le Parisien who spoke with a source close to negotiations who said, “at the moment, no big transfer is coming to an end” and that “everyone is in the dark.”

Following the news on Wednesday, the president of Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, spoke at a press conference and mentioned the supposed deal for Telles (via Culture PSG).

“You have to ask A Bola. They are the ones who know. I don’t know anything about it.”

Now, did A Bola get this completely wrong or is da Costa playing coy while the details are being finalized? Porto did want more than the reported €25 million figure that PSG has supposedly offered. Perhaps Chelsea FC, another club that is thought to be interested in Telles, has increased its offer and could steal the Brazilian defender away from the Ligue 1 champions.
