The 2019-20 season will come to an end at some point, and 17-year-old Tanguy Kouassi will finally have a decision to make; either remain at Paris Saint-Germain or head elsewhere for greener pastures.
Along with Adil Aouchiche, Kouassi represents the two crown jewels of the capital club’s youth system. However, both players have yet to sign a professional contract, which has caused various clubs to circle both players like sharks.
Unlike Aouchiche, who has gone on record stating his preference to stay with Les Parisiens, Kouassi is entertaining offers from clubs such as RB Leipzig and AC Milan. Furthermore, a recent report suggests that the German club has the 17-year-old “tied up.”
Despite the attention the young player receives from various clubs, L’Equipe journalist Yoann Riou, who appeared on the set of La Chaîne (via ParisFans), advised the PSG youth product to stay in Paris.
“He has to stay. He has the confidence of the coach and can play both in defense and in midfield,” Riou said. “At AC Milan, it would undoubtedly be a wonderful experience abroad, and we tell ourselves that this club will, at some point, return to the very highest level. But there anyway, you’re at PSG. Tuchel appreciates him.”
It will be interesting to see if the increase in minutes and responsibility by manager Thomas Tuchel is enough for Kouassi to remain at PSG or be the next youth product to depart.
