Former Real Madrid Forward Receives Ligue 1 Medal Despite Playing 1 Minute For PSG This Season

Late last August, Jesé Rodriguez was brought on for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the 90th minute during a Ligue 1 match against FC Metz. It was the only minute the former Real Madrid man played for Paris Saint-Germain all season.

PSG defeated Metz 2-0 that day en route to their ninth Ligue 1 championship, which was announced earlier this week, and Jesé will reportedly receive a winners medal for his efforts.

Jesé, who is still technically a PSG player and is under contract with them until 2021, joined Sporting CP just three days after the Metz result on a season-long loan.

Things haven’t gone well for Jesé in the Portuguese league and earlier this year, Sporting tried to send the player back to PSG but they refused.

So, it’s probably not surprising that Sporting has already ended the loan deal and even if the season resumes in Portugal, Jesé will not be on the team. This leaves PSG with the difficult task of finding a team that will take Jesé on another loan or buys him outright.

At least he’ll always have that Ligue 1 champions medal to remember that one minute he played for PSG this season.
