This transfer rumor isn’t new but it may be picking up steam much to the delight of American Paris Saint-Germain supporters.
Earlier this month reports out of the Netherlands revealed that Paris Saint-Germain was interested in signing Ajax’s Sergiño Dest along with FC Barcelona.
Status #Dest. #Bayern als enige concreet. #Barcelona informeerde bij zaakwaarnemers Amerikaanse Nederlander naar situatie rechtsback #Ajax. Net als PSG en Dortmund overigens. Maar vanwege coronacrisis wacht iedereen even af.

Things quieted down after that initial report but now, it appears that Dest would welcome a move to the French capital.
According to France Football, Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, has targeted the 19-year-old right-back who will likely cost around €20 million this summer. They write that the United States international sees PSG as a positive move as it would be a step up in his career and he would see plenty of playing time.
With Thomas Meunier at the end of his contract and likely to depart this summer, Dest would arrive and compete with Thilo Kehrer and Colin Dagba for the starting right-back position. I like his chances a lot in that battle especially considering he was recently named as the winner of Ajax’s ‘Best Talent of the Year’

Also, Dest is capable of playing both full-back positions and we know how much manager Thomas Tuchel likes versatile players. There’s also the economic impact of having one of the best USMNT players in the squad. The American market is one PSG wants to tap into and this is a surefire way to sell a lot of jerseys.

Definitively the infinite love that Sheikh Nasser Al-Khelaifi has for Barcelona can create a fierce competition for Dest!
