For years now, Paris Saint-Germain supporters have had to listen to the constant noise surrounding Real Madrid’s interest in signing Kylian Mbappé. Now, the Merengues will have to listen to speculation about PSG signing some of their key players.
According to El Confidencial (via Le10Sport), Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, is keen on bringing Raphaël Varane to the Parc des Princes along with Rodrygo and Federico Valverde.
If Mbappé does push for a transfer before his contract expires in 2022, it’s possible Leonardo may be able to pry one of these players away from Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in exchange for the 21-year-old but certainly not all of them.
Considering PSG would need a pacey winger if Mbappé left, I could see Leonardo pushing hard for Rodrygo to be included in the deal. However, Thiago Silva is 35-year-old and who knows how much he has left in the tank. Varane might be the smart choice here if PSG could only have one of these players in exchange for Mbappé.
This speculation could be a moot point because there’s reports that indicate that Mbappé is happy in Paris and considering signing a contract extension.
