In his third season with Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar Jr. finally showed why the club spent €222 million to sign him from FC Barcelona.
Through 22 appearances in all competitions this season, Neymar has scored 18 goals and recorded 10 assists. He did suffer two injury spells this season but he was available when PSG needed him most.
Prior to this season, Neymar had only played in one of PSG’s knockout stage matches in the UEFA Champions League (Real Madrid in 2018).
Not only did Neymar play against Borussia Dortmund this year, but he scored two goals (one in each leg of the tie) and propelled PSG to their first quarter-finals appearance since 2016.
In addition to the goals and the assists, Neymar has dazzled football fans with his flicks and tricks on the pitch. At times, he humiliates his opponents so badly that the official has to give him a yellow card for literally being too good at football.
