There is no shortage of clubs interested in Thomas Meunier whose contract expires with Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
For weeks, it appeared the right-back would be headed to Borussia Dortmund with reports indicating that a deal with the German club had been signed.
According to an exclusive report from 90min, though, Meunier’s future is still in the balance and Tottenham Hotspur plans to make a push for the 28-year-old this summer. Their sources reveal that José Mourinho has “identified Meunier as a primary target.”
As you likely know being a PSG supporter, Spurs already has a former Parisian playing right-back in Serge Aurier. However, the Côte d’Ivoire international didn’t impress Mourinho enough this season to secure his place in the starting lineup and now he is looking for a replacement.
What’s interesting is that Aurier has recently come out and said that he would like to finish his career in Paris. With PSG also in the market for a right-back, they may be interested in bringing back the controversial defender.
Spurs will obviously face competition in signing Meunier on a free transfer this summer from Dortmund but Manchester United are also expected to make a run at him as well.
