PSG’s Sporting Director Posts Mysterious Image on Instagram

Just like Paris Saint-Germain manager, Thomas Tuchel, the club’s sporting director isn’t what you would call social media savvy.

Leonardo has a verified Instagram account with more than 250,000 followers but those fans haven’t been treated to any posts, until this weekend.

On Saturday, Leonardo posted an image of a white square with no caption leading PSG fans to speculate what it means.

Could the white square mean that Leonardo has completed a deal for Alex Telles, similar to the white smoke that emerges from the Vatican when a new pope has been selected?

Or, could the white square be in reference to Los Blancos, Real Madrid, and their pursuit of Kylian Mbappé? Is Leonardo taunting them because of the leaked news that PSG would rather keep their superstar for the duration of his contract (2022) than sell him early?

The most likely explanation is that the image is meant to support healthcare workers on the front lines battling the coronavirus. The white is obviously a reference to their white uniforms. However, why not say something about that in the caption or encourage donations through PSG’s website?

This may be a mystery we’ll never know the answer to.
