PSG Midfielder Pushing Cavani to Join Boca Juniors This Summer

Players only have one boyhood club that they hold dear to their heart regardless of where they play throughout their career. For Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes, it’s Boca Juniors.

The Argentine club is reportedly interested in Paredes’ teammate, Edinson Cavani, who will become a free agent once the season concludes.

Paredes is currently playing the role of the influencer, trying to convince El Matador to head to Argentina. The 25-year-old recently spoke with TNT Sports and provided insight into what he’s doing to try and get Cavani to join Boca.

“I drive Cavani crazy, he wants to, but he wants to stay one or two more years here in Europe,” Paredes said.

Whether it’s in South America or Europe, once the season concludes, the Uruguayan will have plenty of options if he decides to depart from Les Parisians. Ultimately, the club that can provide Cavani with the wages he’s looking for will perhaps win his signature.

Despite Boca leaving the door open for a possible deal, the economics of the deal could be too costly for them. One of the reasons as to why salary will play a factor is because, in the winter transfer window, the 33-year-old’s move to Atlético Madrid fell apart due to wages reportedly.

Paredes will probably continue playing as a double-agent to try and push Cavani towards Boca, but it looks as though PSG’s all-time goal scorer will want to stay in Europe.
