PSG Manager Sends First Tweet After 2-Year Hiatus; Here’s What He Said

Thomas Tuchel doesn’t give his nearly 80 thousand followers much to engage with on Twitter.

The Paris Saint-Germain manager has nearly 80 thousand followers of his verified account but he last sent an original tweet on May 20, 2018, the day he was unveiled as the club’s new manager.

A year later, Tuchel re-tweeted a post from the official PSG account announcing his contract extension. Somewhat oddly, @PSG_Inside is the only account Tuchel follows.

Earlier today, Tuchel sent out his first tweet in nearly two years and it was to refute his supposed involvement in a biography about him.

The tweet read:

“Because more and more people are currently talking to me about it…: No, I did not commission the book ‘Thomas Tuchel-Die Biografie’, nor did I work on it. Nor is it authorized by me. Stay healthy – TT”

According to Le Parisien, the book by journalists Tobias Schächter and Daniel Meuren is about Tuchel’s time at FSV Mainz through his departure from Borussia Dortmund and “describes him as a lonely man, recognized by his peers but not loved.”

The raw reporting is likely what forced Tuchel to send the tweet but it’s no secret that at Dortmund at least, he was not loved and current employees are not shy about saying so.
