PSG Close to Stealing Chelsea Transfer Target For Bargain Price

FC Porto defender, Alex Telles, has a market value of €35 million and his contract includes a €40 million release clause. However, Paris Saint-Germain could sign the Brazilian for much less.

According to A Bola (via Culture PSG), Les Parisiens are lining up a €22 million offer for Telles who is entering the last year of his contract.

Porto understands that this is their last opportunity to cash in on their asset and are willing to sell for a bargain price. Earlier this month, Chelsea FC was thought to be in the driver’s seat to sign Telles but with each passing day, PSG seems like they have taken control of this transfer.

There are several major issues holding up the deal, though. The coronavirus crisis has limited travel in Europe and no one knows when the summer transfer window will open.

If PSG can pull off this transfer, it would be one of Leonardo’s best signings since he returned to the club last summer as sporting director. Telles is a stud and a more than suitable replacement for the outgoing Layvin Kurzawa. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if Telles wins the starting left-back job ahead of Juan Bernat.
