Neymar is ‘From Another Planet’ Claims Trainer

Neymar Jr. is currently at his luxury compound in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the coronavirus pandemic but he would much rather be in Paris playing football.

According to a post on his official website, Neymar Jr. admitted that he feels some anxiety with the unknown of the coronavirus and that he misses his Paris Saint-Germain teammates.

“Not knowing when to return gives me anxiety. I really miss playing, competing, the club environment, my PSG teammates. I miss football, really! I’m sure the crowd also wants to see everyone back on the pitch as soon as possible. I hope the decision comes out as soon as possible.”

I think most PSG supporters would echo these words from the Brazil international.

While Neymar waits for the news that he can return to the club, he’s staying busy in Brazil with his personal trainer, Ricardo “Rica” Rosa who has had to make some changes to keep the 28-year-old as fit as possible while in isolation.

“It is necessary to understand the environment in which this athlete lives. There is pressure from competitions, so I try to adjust to a routine where I don’t become pressure either. I try to relieve this pressure by controlling training loads and controlling food habits. Everything for him to improve and evolve, more and more, in his performance.”

Rica, who has been working with Neymar for 10 years, also spoke about what makes the PSG superstar a unique athlete.

“In all these years working with him, what I would highlight, in the physical part, in general, is that he is a privileged athlete, always on the level or above, for football players. Another thing that stands out a lot and few know about this, in addition to being an agile and fast athlete, he has a lot of resistance. It is very difficult to find an athlete with these three skills together, but in Neymar’s case, he is from another planet, because he has all three.”

There’s been no official announcement as to when the Ligue 1 or UEFA Champions League season will resume. It’s been reported that Ligue 1 could come back on June 17 and the Champions League would start soon after during the month of August.
