Most of the focus is on Tanguy Kouassi when it comes to youth products needing a professional contract due to the interest from RB Leipzig and FC Barcelona. However, clubs are also surrounding the other jewel of the Paris Saint-Germain youth system, Adil Aouchiche.
In January, the 17-year-old made it clear that he intends on signing a professional contract with PSG. Fast-forward to April and the Ligue 1 leaders have yet to lock up their teenage player; also, L’Équipe (via Get French Football News) report that several French clubs are in the race to lure Aouchiche away from Paris.
Two Ligue 1 teams, in particular, appear to have the upper hand in providing an enticing offer to Aouchiche with Lille OSC being the more intriguing team for the Frenchman over AS Saint-Étienne.
Over the last couple of seasons, Lille has produced young talent while competing in the league and playing European football. Les Dogues will look to use playing time and suiting up for a competitive squad to try and take away another PSG youth product. Last summer, Lille signed American Timothy Weah.
As for the other serious competitor, Saint-Étienne, they too hope to use playing time as a way to sign the talented midfielder. However, ASSE currently finds themselves three points out of the relegation zone. If they end up going down to Ligue 2, that would take them out of the Aouchiche sweepstakes.
Other teams thought to be interested in Aouchiche includes Girondins de Bordeaux and Stade Rennais.
PSG have lost a lot of young talent over the last couple of seasons, whether it’s due to the capital club selling the player or not offering a professional contract. Despite that, Les Parisiens need to do whatever it takes to keep Aouchiche and Kouassi in the French capital. They’re that good.
