French football media pundit, Pierre Ménès, made an interview appearance for the Reservists (via VIPSG) and spoke about Kylian Mbappé and how no club can afford the France international.
With the never-ending rumors linking the 21-year-old to Real Madrid and the recent report that Paris Saint-Germain are lining up a lucrative contract extension, these are the two clubs that will be at each other’s necks for the services of Mbappé the next couple of years.
Nonetheless, Ménès doesn’t believe a move to Los Blancos is a realistic one, considering Les Parisiens have no interest in selling their young star. Also, he doesn’t think Real Madrid can afford the transfer for and the wages that Mbappé will command.
“They don’t have the money to pay the PSG and to pay Mbappé’s salary. Qatar has the financial means to keep Mbappé,” Ménès said. “I think Mbappé wants to win the Champion’s League with PSG, and for him, it would have more value if he won it with PSG.”
Plenty of PSG supporters will be hoping that Ménès is right, and Mbappé wants to win the UEFA Champions League trophy with the capital club. Furthermore, the pundit is right; winning it with PSG would have more value since it will be the first rather than at Real Madrid, where they currently hold the record with 13 Champions League titles.
