‘We Will Try to Score as Many Goals as Possible’ – PSG Manager Promises Attacking Football

As Paris Saint-Germain look to overcome their 2-1 deficit against Borussia Dortmund in the return leg of the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, manager Thomas Tuchel made one thing clear in his comments to PSG’s official website, the plan is to attack because, for the squad, a 1-0 win is not enough even if that would see the Parisians through to the next round.

It’s no secret that with Thiago Silva possibly playing but not being at 100 percent, the defense will be suspect. Also, with Erling Haaland on the other side, the German manager doesn’t want to settle for only a one-goal performance to eliminate Dortmund.

“1-0 is enough, but I really feel like we are not a team that can only make it 1-0,” Tuchel said. “We are a team that likes to attack, and we’re going to attack. We will try to score as many goals as possible.”

Many expected a goal-fest in the first leg between these two squads but came away with a defensive tilt. However, with no Ultras or supporters to make the Parc des Prince an intimidating place to play, perhaps we will see an excess of goals.

If that turns out to be the case, then Tuchel is spot on with his prediction, and PSG will need to score more than one goal if they hope to advance to the quarter-finals.
