Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund will be remembered in the French capital for years to come.
The result was enough to see the Parisians through to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a 3-2 aggregate advantage over the two legs.
Neymar Jr. scored a diving heading off a corner in the 28th minute to give PSG the early lead and Juan Bernat added another in stoppage time before halftime. In the remaining 45 minutes, the PSG defense stood strong and put a stop to any attack Dortmund tried to mount.
It was an inspirational performance on the pitch but so was the performance by PSG supporters before, during and after the match.
Fans were banned from entering the Parc des Princes due to concerns over the spread of the coronavirus but they showed up in numbers to support the club. You could hear the Ultras on the broadcast singing outside the stadium and they even launched fireworks. After the match, when PSG’s punch their ticket to the quarter-finals, that’s when the party really started.
