Several Starters Out For PSG’s Coupe de France Clash Against Lyon; Di Maria Questionable

Paris Saint-Germain faces a difficult road test on Wednesday as Thomas Tuchel takes his squad into the Groupama Stadium to face Olympique Lyonnais in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France.

At his pre-match press conference, Tuchel revealed that Ander Herrera, Thiago Silva, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Colin Dagba are all out of the squad due to injury. Presnel Kimpembe is out due to suspension.

The status of Angel Di Maria won’t be known until after Tuesday’s training session. Di Maria was subbed off after 17 minutes last Saturday against Dijon FCO with a thigh injury that isn’t thought to be too serious but considering PSG’s injury history this season, it’s understandable if the club is being over precautious.

Wednesday’s match against Lyon is a big one for a couple of reasons. Obviously, reaching a cup final is very important but it will also serve as a barometer of where this team is heading into the rematch against Borussia Dortmund next week.

Lyon is a UEFA Champions League team and they did defeat Juventus FC in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie. Tuchel will want to see his team perform at the top of their ability and build confidence with only one more match remaining for Dortmund comes to the Parc des Princes.
