PSG Ultras to Players: ‘Play Like Warriors!’

The Paris Saint-Germain Ultras can be harsh on the players when they feel they’re not giving their all for the badge, however, they are also some of the best supporters in world football.

On Saturday, the Collectif Ultras Paris posted a message on Twitter that set the stage for what they expect from the club as they host Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday for the second leg of their Round of 16 UEFA Champions League tie.

The message from the CUP reads:

“At the dawn of our 50 years of history, our club, our stadium, have known many stories.”

“PSG-Madrid ’93, PSG-Steaua ’97, the rollercoaster against our lifelong enemy, Sochaux-PSG ’08.”

“Each time, we supporters, we Parisians are present at your side in the Parc, in France in Europe, we will follow you without ever letting go.”

“Wednesday we will be present when the doors open at your side, as in the first leg where the yellow wall was ultimately only an optical illusion and a slight buzzing sound.”

“Players, staff, leaders, if you want to win, play like warriors, make them tremble, have no mercy!”

If that doesn’t get the players ready to put in the performance of their life, I don’t know what will.

Unfortunately, it may not be up to the supporters when it comes to attending the match against Dortmund. The spread of the coronavirus could force the match to be played behind closed doors without any fans in the stadium. That is the worst-case scenario. If the match is to be impacted at all, the ideal situation would be for Dortmund fans to be banned from traveling leaving only PSG fans in the Parc des Princes or for it to be postponed a week.

PSG’s match on Saturday against RC Strasbourg was postponed due to the coronavirus so there’s a very good possibility that the most important game of the season could be impacted. We’ll have an update on the site as soon as we hear something.
