Typically with football transfers, where there’s smoke, there’s typically fire. In the case of Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, there’s plenty of smoke regarding a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
The latest development in the Koulibaly/PSG transfer dance comes from journalist Nicolò Schira and involves the details of a contract the Ligue 1 leaders are believed to have presented to the player’s agent, which is a very lucrative five-year deal worth €10 million, plus bonuses, per year.
#PSG are really interested in Kalidou #Koulibaly. Three weeks ago #Leonardo has talked with his agent (Fali Ramadani). For him is ready a contract until 2025 with a wages of €10M + bonuses. #transfers

Manchester United, as well as a few other clubs, are also chasing Koulibaly but PSG received a boost recently when it became known that the 28-year-old purchased a luxury apartment in Paris.
Also working in PSG’s favor is the fact that captain Thiago Silva will likely leave the French capital this summer when his contract expires, opening up a starting spot in a team competing for the UEFA Champions League.
If Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, believes Koulibaly is the right replacement for Silva, it will cost the club a transfer fee of approximately €100 million in addition to the proposed salary.
For me, there are very few defenders on the market that posses Koulibaly’s experience and strength. He’s a completely different type of defender than Silva and when paired with Presnel Kimpembe, PSG will have two shut-down center-backs.
