Neymar Takes Extra Step to Avoid Contracting the Coronavirus

The coronavirus pandemic has forced sports leagues around the world to suspend games to avoid further spread of the virus.

On Friday, we learned that Ligue 1 games would be suspended until further notice as well as the UEFA Champions League. Paris Saint-Germain has also canceled all training sessions and players were asked to stay at home.

On social media, Neymar Jr. showed that he is clearly taking the news seriously. On his Instagram Story, Neymar posted a black-and-white selfie of him wearing the type of mask you would see on Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat.

With the photo, the 28-year-old who scored a diving header in PSG’s last game for a while, wrote, “Corona Out” with a virus emoji.

While I appreciate the extra step that Neymar is taking here, unless he’s wearing an N95 respirator, a normal mask will do little to keep him safe from contracting Covid-19 if he comes in contact with an infected person.
