While Paris Saint-Germain supporters celebrated the club’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night, fear over the spread of the coronavirus hit an all-time high.
During a National Basketball Association game between the Denver Nuggets and Dallas Mavericks, the league announced that the season would be suspended. It was a surreal moment to watch a game knowing it would be the last one for the foreseeable future.

The cause of the suspension stemmed from the news that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had tested positive for the coronavirus. Considering the two-week incubation period and the number of players, coaches, referees, journalists, and fans Gobert could have interacted during that time, it was clear that the NBA had to shut down the league to avoid further spread.
PSG supporters will know Gobert well. In addition to playing for the Jazz where he is one of the best centers in the NBA, he also suits up for the France national team and has been spotted at the Parc des Princes as recently as last August for a game between PSG and Nîmes Olympique.
