Edinson Cavani is Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time leading scorer but his time at the club will soon come to an end as his contract expires in June. El Matador‘s next destination has long been thought to be Atlético Madrid but a South American club is now linked with the 33-year-old striker.
According to a report from Ovación (via Marca), Cavani would be open to a move to the Argentina champions, Boca Juniors.
“Boca is a team that attracts me, they are a team that I like,” Cavani said.
Cavani was heavily linked to Atléti this past January but the La Liga club could never meet PSG’s financial expectations and a deal never materialized. A war of words between Cavani’s camp and executives at Los Colchoneros now complicate a potential free transfer this summer, making a move to Boca that much more possible.
The Uruguay international is in his home country to help assist with the coronavirus crisis. The additional time off will provide him with time to think about the next step in his career.
At PSG, Cavani has recorded 200 goals in 301 appearances.
