Montpellier HSC midfielder Téji Savanier may want to think twice before fouling Neymar Jr.
Approaching halftime, Savanier kicked Neymar from behind and was whistled for a foul. Neymar, who had been toying with Montpellier defenders all night, didn’t take too kindly to the foul, so after play resumed, he ran right at Savanier and did this to him:
I counted four stepovers but it could have been more. Neymar’s feet were too fast for Savanier who could only stab at the ball and looked foolish doing it.
In recent years, these two sides have typically engaged in heated battles with lots of fouls. Back in December, Andy Delort accused Neymar of being disrespectful to Montpellier players. I think it’s safe to say Mr. Delort probably didn’t care for this move from the Brazilian at all.
At this point in the match, PSG held a 1-0 lead over Montpellier thanks to a goal from Pablo Sarabia.
