Video: Edinson Cavani Scores 200th Goal for Paris Saint-Germain

Edinson Cavani started over Mauro Icardi on Sunday night against Girondins de Bordeaux and took full advantage of the opportunity.

After conceding a goal in the 18th minute, Paris Saint-Germain equalized in the 25th minute when El Matador made a great run into the box to meet a perfectly placed cross from Angel Di Maria.

The goal was vintage Cavani but more importantly, it was the 33-year-old’s 200th goal for the club.

According to OptaJean, it took Cavani 298 games to reach the milestone. The Uruguay international scored 138 goals in Ligue 1, 30 in the UEFA Champions League, and 32 in domestic cups.

Last month, it was hard to imagine Cavani reaching the 200 goal plateau as he was heavily linked with a move to Atlético Madrid. With his contract set to expire this summer, Cavani will likely move to another club but he leaves the French capital with one more record under his belt.
