Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Barcelona Ready to Pounce if Tuchel Fails at PSG

Thomas Tuchel’s future at Paris Saint-Germain very much depends on his performance in the UEFA Champions League this season.

If PSG crashes out before the semi-finals of the tournament, it’s very possible the club will sack him and move on to a new manager. We’ve seen it before with Unai Emery and Laurent Blanc.

Working in Tuchel’s favor is the fact that this is PSG’s strongest team ever. In fact, Les Parisiens haven’t lost a match since November 1 against Dijon FCO and they nearly went perfect in the group stage of the Champions League with their only blemish being a draw against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

Anything can happen in the Champions League though, and with that in mind, three teams are lining up for Tuchel’s services should he be let go at the end of the season.

According to Le10Sport, FC Bayern Munich remains interested in Tuchel. They previously tried to sign the German tactician before he signed for PSG but he admitted that their proposal came too late. They continue to track the PSG boss and it’s very possible he could find it intriguing to return to Germany and take over the biggest club in the country.

Another club interested in Tuchel, according to Le10Sport, is Manchester United. This is a bit surprising considering their current manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, upset Tuchel at the Parc des Princes last season in the Champions League. However, a dismal performance in the Premier League this season has the Red Devils ready to hit the reset button and Tuchel could be the man to turn things around.

Finally, FC Barcelona is reportedly interested in Tuchel despite the recent hire of Quique Setién. It’s been a lukewarm season for the Catalan club with turmoil between executives and Lionel Messi. Tuchel has proven he can handle big personalities and according to Le10Sport, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu likes what Tuchel can bring to a top club. If Barcelona can’t sign Neymar Jr., perhaps Tuchel would be the consolation prize.
