4 Players Definitely Out For PSG’s Trip to Nantes

On Monday, Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel answered questions from members of the media at his pre-match press conference with a trip to FC Nantes scheduled for tomorrow.

Nantes currently sits in ninth place in Ligue 1 but Les Canaris are in the top half of the table when it comes to goals allowed.

Tuchel is well aware of their defensive abilities and mentioned it during his press conference when talking more broadly about his team’s current run of form.

“We played a lot of games in different contexts. We played the Coupe de France, a lot of away games, now, a game against a very strong team defensively. We found solutions, we played seriously against Montpellier, with a lot of effort, team effort.”

While Nantes will be difficult to break down, PSG will be lacking their usual defensive starters as confirmed by Tuchel.

“We will have training in the afternoon. It is the training two days after a game, so you have a day to think about it, talk with officials, medical staff, but I am sure that we will play without Marquinhos, Thiago Silva, Colin Dagba, Juan Bernat, but I hope the others will be available.

Those are some big names missing for PSG. It wouldn’t be crazy to think that could be Tuchel’s preferred backline in the UEFA Champions League this season.

The squad is deep enough to overcome their absences but the sooner they return and get back into match fitness, the better Tuchel and supporters will feel about the upcoming trip to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16.
