In the 49th minute, PSG broke free with Kylian Mbappé picking out Mauro Icardi in the box. The Argentine took the pass with his first touch and blasted his shot into the back of the net. That’s why he’s Europe’s most lethal goal poacher.
The third goal from Icardi was even more fun to watch as a PSG fan. Down a man, Les Verts chased after Mbappé who turned on the afterburners and unselfishly played a pass to Icardi who scored with ease. It’s was almost like when you play FIFA on easy mode.
The two goals put PSG up 5-0 over Saint-Étienne and a place in the semi-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue is all but confirmed. The result will be even worse for Claude Puel’s men who lost 4-0 last December in Ligue 1 play. Ouch!
