Adil Aouchiche and Tanguy Kouassi are considered the jewels of Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system. With both yet to sign a professional contract with the club, supporters are growing concerned that the two Frenchmen could leave this summer.
After the 1-0 win over FC Lorient last Sunday, PSG’s sporting director, Leonardo, answered questions from members of the media about Edinson Cavani, Layvin Kurzawa, and Aouchiche and Kouassi.
As reported by Le Parisien, Leonardo stated that the future of PSG’s promising young stars is up to them.
“We did everything for these players. Now the decision is in their hands.”
“There are still doubts, but to stay at PSG, you must not have doubts. On our side, we did everything. Tanguy played in the Champions League, and Adil in Ligue 1, because we believe in them, but with the risk of losing them in six months. We have a clear line: the best are playing, and they were.”
Recently, Kouassi has been reported to be of interest to Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig who have offered him a €4 million signing bonus. Aouchiche has his heart set on playing for PSG but FC Barcelona could make it a difficult decision for him as they have expressed interest.
With PSG competing in four competitions currently, these two players should expect to see playing time throughout the rest of the season and hopefully, that will be enough to keep them in the French capital.
