On Sunday night, the San Francisco 49ers defeated the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2012. Ahead of kickoff, 49ers quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo sat down with Erin Andrews for a pre-game interview.
As several eagle-eyed Paris Saint-Germain supporters pointed out, Jimmy-G, as he’s known, was wearing a PSG x Jordan hooded sweatshirt throughout the interview.

It’s unclear whether or not Garoppolo is a PSG supporter or if he simply likes the sweatshirt, but we’re going to claim him as one of our own anyway even if he’s not the first pro athlete named “Jimmy” to support Les Parisiens.
The best part about seeing an American athlete wearing anything PSG related is to see all of the Premier League fanboys freak out at the prospect of someone not falling in line and supporting an English club. Several others questioned Garoppolo’s decision ahead of such a critical game citing PSG’s failures in the UEFA Champions League.

It’s incredible how an NFL athlete wearing a shirt with “Paris Saint-Germain” on it during a pre-recorded interview can trigger so many people.
With the new PSG x Jordan collection set to be released soon, this could all be a marketing ploy by the club and Nike/Jordan to get the collection in front of as many people as possible. It certainly created some noise on social media.
In recent weeks, we’ve also seen NBA stars Zion Williamson and Carmelo Anthony wearing the collection, but both of them are Jordan athletes. PSG’s fourth kit with the Jordan branding will be unveiled ahead of an NBA game in Paris on January 24.
#PSG will unveil a new 4th shirt on January 24th ahead of the first NBA match to take place in Paris.
