PSG Transfer Rumor Heats Up As AC Milan Midfielder Asks to Be Left Out of Squad

If following Paris Saint-Germain on Instagram wasn’t a strong enough of an indication that Lucas Paquetá wants a transfer to the French capital, then the Brazilian requesting to be left out of the AC Milan squad to face Brescia on Friday should certainly incentivize the Rossoneri to make a deal.

The January transfer window has been a quiet one for PSG but things could heat up in the remaining days. Edinson Cavani could be on the way to Atlético Madrid and if PSG is willing to part ways with one of their midfielders, or increase their transfer fee, Milan will likely send Paquetá the opposite direction.

According to UOL Esporte, the 22-year-old Paquetá did not play in Milan’s win over Udinese last Sunday but after the match, he was taken to a clinic for tests where it was determined that he has a lot of anxiety and stress.

The Brazilian publication also reveals that Paquetá has no friends in Milan and “he’s been very sad.” The situation has led to the player’s manager begging Milan executives to find a solution to get his client out of the club.

With several Brazilians in the PSG squad already—Neymar Jr., Marquinhos, and Thiago Silva—it’s obvious why Paquetá would like a move to Paris. The reigning French champions and Milan have yet to agree on a suitable transfer fee but as the situation worsens and the window sets to close in a week, the Seria A club could be willing to come down from their asking price.
