PSG Refused to Take Back Player on Loan at Sporting

Recent headlines regarding Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer activity has primarily surrounded the uncertain futures of Edinson Cavani and Layvin Kurzawa. However, one player’s future who will not be part of the capital club’s future is Jesé Rodriguez’s, which is why PSG refused his early return this winter, according to A Bola (via Culture PSG).

Last September, the Spanish forward was loaned to Sporting CP and so far, the loan hasn’t gone well for the Portuguese club. Through 17 matches, Jesé only has one goal, which is why with little production from the 26-year-old, Sporting would like to end the loan early.

Nonetheless, with PSG having all the power in this deal and no use for Jesé on their current squad, it’s no surprise as to why they would deny the request. So, the 26-year-old forward will remain in Lisbon until June when the loan expires.

Furthermore, with only one more year left in his contract, Les Parisiens will need to find another club to take Jesé off their hands either on loan or at a discount price until they can finally put this disaster of a transfer behind them.
