PSG Féminines Bring in Luana for Remainder of Season

Paris Saint-Germain is continuing its love affair with Brazilian footballers, this time on women’s squad.

After the ACL injury to Sara Däbritz last month, the capital club has brought in midfielder Luana Bertolucci Paixão for reinforcement.

The 26-year-old will remain with the club until the end of the season as PSG Féminines hope that Luana can fill the shoes that Däbritz is leaving behind. The Brazilian is making her return to European football after spending a year in South Korea with Hwacheon KSPO WFC.

Although Luana did play in Europe, it was in Norway, so PSG will be her first experience with a club that has high expectations. One of these will be trying to overtake Olympique Lyonnais, who currently sit atop Division 1 Féminine with 34 points. PSG is right behind them in second place with five points separating the two.

In March, PSG will also kick off their UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals matchup against Arsenal FC. Luana will have some time to adapt to her new squad, but it will have to be a rapid one as PSG look to claim the league and Europe this year.
