Manchester United is a bit of a dumpster fire at the moment. Coming off a 2-0 loss to Arsenal FC at the Emirates Stadium, the Red Devils are scrambling to identify transfer targets to sign in January to help lift them into a UEFA Champions League place in the second half of the season.
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand took to Twitter on Friday to answer questions from fans and when asked which two players he thought United should bring to Old Trafford, he came up with several options.

Kalidou Koulibaly is thought to be a transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain and you have to imagine that if the two teams get into a bidding war that PSG would be able to make the more enticing offer to the Senegal international.
About 30 minutes after his initial tweet, Ferdinand followed up with one additional transfer target he would like his club to sign in January.

Citing his work ethic, experience, and goalscoring ability, Ferdinand said he would “100% go and get Edinson Cavani.”
Cavani is out of contract at the end of the season and has already been linked with a move to Atlético Madrid on a free transfer this summer as well as Manchester United. Despite his agent claiming he won’t leave in January, PSG’s all-time leading scorer has become frustrated at his lack of playing time. If Manchester United makes a substantial offer for Cavani this winter, PSG could be convinced to sell.
A word of caution to Ferdinand and United supporters, Cavani has spent much of the first half of the season injured and has looked dreadful in the few times he’s featured this season. The 32-year-old is past his prime and shouldn’t be relied on to rescue your season. He’s a great professional and a PSG legend, but father time is undefeated.
Also, let’s not forget that after Manchester United defeated PSG in the UEFA Champions League last season, Ferdinand basically said the club should give Ole Gunnar Solskjær a blank check and sign him to a long-term contract. You may want to take what he says with a grain of salt.
