Just like Ligue 1, Paris Saint-Germain dominates the French media.
According to a report from Press’edd (via Le Parisien), Kylian Mbappé was the most mentioned athlete in the French press in 2019. His teammate, Neymar Jr., was second and PSG manager Thomas Tuchel moved up 36 places from last year to finish fourth.
The list is mostly dominated by footballers and football managers with France national team manager Didier Deschamps finishing in third place while FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi placed fifth and Cristiano Ronaldo finished a distant ninth. Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane rounded out the top 10.

The report ranks the top 1,000 personalities and analyzes thousands of print and digital content to come up with its findings, which show that 44 percent of the names mentioned in the French media are athletes.
While Mbappé is the most mentioned athlete in the French media, he has a way to go to catch up with France president Emmanuel Macron (first) and the United States of America president Donald Trump (second).
