“MSN” is back together against…at least temporarily and not on a football pitch.
According to Spanish media outlet Sport, Neymar Jr. is in Uruguay with his former teammates Lionel Messi to celebrate the 10-year-anniversary of Luis Suárez and his wife Sofía Balbi in Punta de Este.
The trio linked up at FC Barcelona to form one of the most feared attacks in all of Europe. You may remember that nightmare of a game they gave Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 when the Catalan club turned around a 4-0 deficit in the UEFA Champions League and won 6-1 at the Camp Nou in the return leg.
Neymar and Messi will be among approximately 160 guests in attendance and while no official guest list was released, you can bet that there will be other top footballers there enjoying the festivities. I just hope Kylian Mbappé’s invitation got lost in the mail.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that Neymar would be invited to Suárez’s celebration. The Brazilian remains close with his former Barcelona teammates and belongs to a WhatsApp group where they exchange messages.
Last summer, Neymar nearly forced a transfer back to Barcelona but the La Liga giants couldn’t put together a deal enticing enough for PSG to agree to. This season, the Brazilian has been superb and has even talked about one day captaining PSG.
