Michel Platini Has Praise for PSG, Mbappé, and Neymar

It appears that Leonardo’s comments in response to Michel Platini’s statement in which he compared Paris Saint-Germain to the Coca-Cola Company have caused the former France international to have a change of heart.

In an interview with Le Figaro (via Culture PSG), the 64-year-old had some kind words to say about PSG and the players at the club. In one part of the interview, he went on to say how he could picture PSG forward Kylian Mbappé spending his career in Paris. Despite the lure of Real Madrid, Platini went on to say that although PSG may not have the “history” like some of these clubs, they do have the means.

Also, Platini mentioned how having a French superstar in France will put Ligue de Football Professionnel on another level. The Frenchman didn’t dive into detail, but playing off his words, keeping Mbappé in Ligue 1 can help generate more money for the league, especially when the television contracts come up.

Keeping the now 21-year-old Mbappé in France will have an effect on all the clubs in Ligue 1. They will benefit from the more lucrative television contracts, which will result in them being able to pay higher wages and keep some of their stars longer instead of selling too soon.

Finally, Platini ended the interview by having kind words for Neymar Jr., too, by saying that Mbappé is at his best when he’s playing alongside the Brazilian. See, Platini can be nice to PSG.
