How good is Paris Saint-Germain’s marketing? Well, so good in fact that even Ligue 1 opponents want to wear Parisian colors.
Yassine Benrahou is a 20-year-old professional footballer who posted photos on Instagram of him working out in a PSG training shirt. The only problem is Benrahou plays for Girondins de Bordeaux!
The Moroccan has only featured in six matches this season for Bordeaux and now, he’s making more noise off the pitch than on and was forced to apologize to supporters as reported by the Daily Mail.
“I would like to tell you that I have done all of my classes at the FCGB and that it is a great honor for me to represent the colors of my training club whenever I have the opportunity,” Benrahou said.
“The clothes do not make the man. Do not judge, do not stigmatize, the main thing is not what you wear on your sweatshirt but what you have been fighting for every day since the age of 15.”

In response, the club that pays Benrahou’s wages reminded him to “respect the coat of arms and their colors.”
“The Scapular is a pride that must be represented with dignity in the different moments of his life. The institution is above all,” Bordeaux commented.
It will be interesting to see the response Benrahou receives from home supporters if he’s given an opportunity to play. Bordeaux’s next home match is against Le Mans in the Round of 64 of the Coupe de France, so it’s possible he could get some minutes.
Benrahou hasn’t featured for Bordeaux in a month but with a visit to the Parc des Princes scheduled for February 22, let’s hope he goes into the right locker room.
