Bernat Calls This PSG Striker ‘The Most Complete’ (Hint: It’s Not Neymar or Mbappé)

Paris Saint-Germain has an embarrassment of riches in the attacking side of the pitch. According to left-back Juan Bernat though, only one is ‘the most complete.’

In an interview with Nice-Matin (via Le Parisien), Bernat was asked to define his offensive teammates in one word but elaborated on a couple of them:

“Neymar Jr.: magic; Kylian Mbappé: power and explosiveness; Mauro Icardi: killer; Edinson Cavani: Matador; Angel Di Maria: that’s all, he’s the most complete. Top, awesome; Julian Draxler: quality.”

It’s hard to argue with Bernat this season. Di Maria has been one of PSG’s best players all season, scoring nine goals and recording nine assists in 20 games in all competitions.

That’s a phenomenal run from the Argentine who has had to carry the goalscoring and assist workload with Neymar, Mbappé, and Cavani missing significant time this season.

What will be crucial for Di Maria is how he performs in the second half of the season. One of the biggest criticisms of the 31-year-old is his inconsistency and failure to show up for PSG in the biggest moments.

With the top spot in Group A of the UEFA Champions League confirmed, the club is set up perfectly for a long run in the tournament and Di Maria will play a primary role in PSG’s success.

Bernat was left off the squad list for Sunday’s match against AS Monaco that was ultimately postponed due to severe weather in the region.
