Spurs recently shared a special video message from Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé for one of their former players. No, not Tottenham, I’m talking about the San Antonio Spurs and Tony Parker!
As we prepare to retire @tonyparker's jersey on Monday, a few people from around the world have delivered special messages for No. 9.

On Saturday, the five-time National Basketball Association champions tweeted a message for Tony Parker in advance of them retiring the Frenchman’s jersey on Monday according to NBA.com.
In the video, the 20-year-old Mbappé calls Parker a “legend of French sports” and recalls a speech Parker made at halftime at the 2013 EuroBasket Semi-Final.
In the speech, Parker tells essentially tells his team to stick together and play with pride. Even if they lose, he can live with that, but at least they fought and played hard.
It’s telling that Mbappé would choose that moment to share coming off his comments about wanting more responsibility after accepting the Ligue 1 Player of the Year Award as reported by Goal.
At that moment, Parker was being a leader and inspiring his teammates to greatness. That is the next step that Mbappé must take in his career to reach the next level. If PSG finds themselves in a tough predicament this season, I hope Mbappé will remember Parker’s words and be the leader when PSG needs him most.
