Thomas Tuchel Showing No Interest in Bayern Job

A few days ago, FC Bayern Munich decided to mutually part ways with manager Niko Kovač after losing 5-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt. In their search for a new head coach, the German giants have approached Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Tuchel, according to Sky Sports.

Much like PSG, Bayern is atop the food chain in Germany. Nonetheless, after years of winning the league without much competition from the other clubs in the Bundesliga. However, over the past couple of seasons, winning the league is proving difficult for them. Last season, Bayern needed a collapse from Borussia Dortmund to claim another league title.

Furthermore, it doesn’t seem as though the club is attracting top players like in years past. Out of all the European giants, Bayern lack that marquee superstar, one that can take a match over. They’re hoping that perhaps having Tuchel, who players more of an aggressive style of football, can not only inject some energy into the club but superstars that would like to play in his system.

This isn’t the first time Bayern have asked Tuchel about the possibility of coaching in Munich. Before agreeing to replace Unai Emery, Tuchel admitted to L’Equipe (via Goal) that Die Bayern came in with a last-minute proposal to stay in Germany and coach their club; nevertheless, the contract proposal was too late.

Nevertheless, Tuchel has displayed no interest in the job and remains committed to Les Parisiens. It appears as though Tuchel hopes to stay in Paris long-term. Along with mentioning his lack of interest in the job, the capital clubs coach points to his contract that runs until 2021 and that they remain in the UEFA Champions League.
