One of the hallmarks of the international break is the ridiculous transfer rumors that will never happen and today we have a doozy involving Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool FC.
According to The Mirror, PSG wants to replace Edinson Cavani with Adam Lallana. There is so much wrong here so let’s just go and unpack it.
First of all, Lallana is more of an attacking midfielder while Cavani is a pure striker. So, they don’t even play the same position.
Then, The Mirror reports that Cavani has already agreed to join the LA Galaxy despite the fact that his agent has said that his client can play at a high level for the next three years and can play on a big European team.
Lallana has also struggled with injuries, something The Mirror pointed out in their piece, so why would PSG want to replace the often-injured Cavani with another injury-prone player?
This isn’t even a good attempt at a transfer rumor article. Was there a spike in Google searches for Lallana and The Mirror wanted to capture some of that traffic?
PSG will be active in the next two transfer windows but I would rest assured that Lallana will not be wearing a PSG kit anytime soon.
