The Kylian Mbappé to Liverpool FC rumors continue to swirl and the latest report has the Premier League leaders willing to break the bank in order to afford the Frenchman.
According to El Desmarque (via Empire of the Kop), Liverpool will look to lure Mbappé away from Paris Saint-Germain and keep him out of the hands of Real Madrid who have publicly expressed an interest in signing 20-year-old.
The report quotes a transfer figure of €250 million and they believe the Reds will offer Mbappé an “astronomical salary of more than 40 ‘kilos’ clean per season.”
As a PSG supporter, I wouldn’t take this report too seriously but it will surely fire up the Liverpool fanbase. Many of their supporters believe Mbappé could actually sign for their club next summer and have even gone as far as to get #Mbappe2020 to trend on Twitter. Even an Instagram like from Mbappé sends Liverpool fans into a frenzy.
Sporting director Leonardo is fed up with all of the rumors regarding Mbappé and a report from Le Parisien has PSG already offering the Bondy-native a lucrative contract extension to keep him in Paris. Leonardo has also gone on the offensive regarding those who speak about his player in an attempt to destabilize him.
After a tumultuous summer of Neymar Jr. transfer rumors, it appears we’re heading into another storm in 2020.
