Nearing the transfer window opening in less than two months and rumors are starting beginning to surface; some that make sense, others not so much. Nonetheless, one of the more under-the-radar transfer rumors that surfaced last week involving Paris Saint-Germain is one of Esteban Andrada from Boca Juniors.
According to TNT Sports in Argentina, PSG is keeping an eye on the Argentine goalkeeper. It’s an odd target, to say the least for the capital city since they recently brought in two new goalkeepers in Keylor Navas and Sergio Rico. However, with Rico only being a loan, PSG is probably looking for a reliable backup for Navas in case the Rico loan doesn’t pan out.

When it comes to Andrada, the 28-year-old has spent his entire career in Argentina with this season being with Boca Juniors.
In 13 starts for the Azul y Oro, Andrada is averaging 3.2 saves per game and is saving 89% of the shots he faces. With Boca Juniors being sound defensively, Andrada doesn’t see many shots, which is why his saves per game are middle of the pack. Furthermore, he’s playing for one of the biggest clubs in South America. Whether it’s against River Plate or in the Copa Libertadores, he’s played in big matches.
Playing for one of the biggest clubs in Argentina will bring European eyes and its why PSG isn’t the only one showing interest. It looks as though sporting director Leonardo’s former club, AC Milan are keeping tabs on the goalkeeper as they want some insurance behind Gianluigi Donnarumma.
A goalkeeper isn’t a huge priority for PSG, but there is an optional buyout in Rico’s loan. If manager Thomas Tuchel or Leonardo don’t like what they see, then they might choose to upgrade, and Andrada could potentially be that for PSG.
