The international break is finally over, and Paris Saint-Germain returned to the Parc des Princes to take on Lille OSC in Ligue 1 action. It also marked the return of Neymar Jr. from injury as the club prepares to take on Real Madrid in a few days in the UEFA Champions League.
However, PSG needed to take care of business at home first before the squad heads to Madrid. Against Lille, the capital club rolled out the trio of Mauro Icardi, Angel Di Maria, and Neymar. It was one of the rare times this attacking trio saw the pitch together.
Although Neymar looked a little rusty coming back from his injury, his two companions on the attack didn’t miss a beat from the time off. Icardi opened up the scoring to give PSG the early 1-0 lead. It also marked 10 goals in 11 matches for Icardi, who continues his impressive form since joining on loan from Inter Milan last summer.
These are some of the reactionary tweets from Icardi scoring the first goal of the match against Lille:
BUUUUUUUUUUT ICARDIIIIIIIIII🥵🥵

Of course he did. Icardi has always been a goal scoring machine. One of the most underrated strikers in the game. #Icardi #PSG https://t.co/J6Wcj1THFq

As the game went on, one of the odd talking points was the “rolling out of bed because I’m late for work” look, Neymar was sporting in his return. Safe to say some people were a little taken back from the look as these tweets would imply:
Neymar is having a bad hair day pic.twitter.com/4GXuOLkza8

Back to the match, Di Maria would continue his impressive run as he made it 2-0 in favor of Les Parisiens, sealing up the win and the three points. As a result, there was plenty of love for the Argentine on Twitter, some going as far as calling him the best player on the team this season.
Di Maria easily PSG's best player this season.

Combien de joueurs réalisent un meilleur début de saison que Di Maria à son poste en Europe ? Je réfléchis depuis tout à l’heure, j’ai pas beaucoup de noms qui me viennent à l’esprit.

Draxler’s football IQ is outta here. He anticipated the slide tackle, gathered the ball and put it on a platter in stride for the Ballon d’Or snub Di Maria.

Since arriving in the top 5 European leagues in 2010, Di Maria has been involved in at least ten goals every single season 📈
Messi, Aguero and Benzema are the only other players to manage this 👑
