Kylian Mbappé made a brief appearance against OGC Nice at the Allianz Riviera on Friday night but he didn’t need long to get back on the scoresheet after missing a significant amount of time due to injury.
The Frenchman came on in the 83rd minute for Pablo Sarabia and wasted no time showing why he is one of the most feared forwards in world football.
Angel Di Maria, who had already scored two goals on the night, fired a shot on goal that was blocked by Dante. Unfortunately for the Nice defender, his deflection landed right in front of Mbappé who doesn’t need an invitation to shoot.
His one-time shot went right under the arms of Walter Benítez for PSG’s third goal on the night.
Mbappé’s contribution was an important one. Nice had chipped away at PSG’s lead and with the game at 2-1 late in the second half, anything could have happened. The 20-year-old’s goal secured the three points and it’s great to see him on the pitch and scoring following a lengthy recovery from a hamstring injury.
