Video: Former Inter Milan Forward Scores Again for PSG

The game was all but finished but that didn’t stop Mauro Icardi from scoring his second Ligue 1 goal for Paris Saint-Germain as the reigning French champions defeated OGC Nice 4-1 at the Allianz Riviera on Friday evening.

Angel Di Maria’s brace and a third goal from Kylian Mbappé in the second half were enough to secure the three points but with Nice down to nine men following two red cards, there were always going to be more goals and Icardi took full advantage in stoppage time.

PSG carved through Nice’s makeshift defense and with Mbappé barreling towards goal with the ball, he unselfishly crossed over to Icardi who was wide open for the easy goal.

Mbappé came on in the 83rd minute and finished with a goal and an assist after missing significant time due to injury. Icardi, who scored the game-winner against Galatasaray S.K. in the UEFA Champions League and then scored another the following match against Angers SCO, is quickly becoming acclimated to the style of football PSG play. The loan deal for his services is proving to be an excellent bit of business by sporting director Leonardo.

Up next for PSG is an away match against Club Brugge in the Champions League next Tuesday.
