Most Paris Saint-Germain players are away on international duty but there’s still plenty of hot-button issues to discuss when it comes to the reigning French champions.
Joining me today on the PSG Talking podcast is Jonathan Johnson, ESPN FC‘s PSG correspondent. If you follow him on Twitter, you’ll know that there are few reporters more knowledgeable about the club than him and we’re thrilled to have him on the show.
During our nearly one hour conversation, I ask Johnson about the recent interview that Thomas Tuchel gave to beIN Sports where the German manager revealed what it was like after the devastating loss to Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League and what his relationship with Neymar Jr. was during last summer’s transfer fiasco.
We then ask the intrepid PSG reporter about injuries to two key players: Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappé. What is Cavani’s role in the team when he returns with Mauro Icardi playing well at the moment? Also, has the medical staff handled Mbappé’s injury correctly? Johnson gives his unique perspective on both situations.
It’s not a PSG podcast without some Neymar talk, so we ask him about the mood around the Parc des Princes and Paris regarding the polarizing Brazilian. Are fans starting to warm up to him given his recent performances and comments to the press?
The show concludes with Johnson answering some of your questions from Twitter.
If you enjoy this episode, let us and Johnson know on Twitter and we’ll try and produce more of these in the future. Thank you for being the best part of PSG Talk and listening. Allez Paris!
