The Paris Saint-Germain news train continues to chug along as supporters were treated to another day of reports coming out of Brazil regarding Neymar Jr. and his potential transfer to FC Barcelona. This follows some pretty insightful comments from new sporting director Leonardo to Le Parisien. On the latest episode of The 1970, Marc Damon joins me to discuss all of the news swirling around the reigning French champions.
We open up with their quick five topics, which include the signings of Ander Herrera, Pablo Sarabia, Marcin Bulka, and Mitchel Bakker. Which players are we most looking forward to seeing this season and who will make the biggest difference? The show then transfers into the groundbreaking Leonardo interview where he touched on many topics, including Matthijs de Ligt and Adrien Rabiot. Was Leonardo wise in sharing so much information and would it be better if he was less visible?
This all leads up to our main event, PSG vs. Neymar. Where do we stand now that the club has publically stated that they intend to discipline their star player after he missed a training appointment? Is this simply a misunderstanding or is it PSG’s way to pull Neymar and his entourage into the public light and force them to make a decision regarding the player’s future?
We wrap up with our “Goober of the Week,” which is where we highlight someone who reported something ridiculous about PSG.
