An Inside Look at Paris Saint-Germain’s New Stadium Tour Experience

A few years ago, I was visiting Paris in the summer and walking along the Champs-Élysées. If you’ve ever been there you know there is a Paris Saint-Germain store there. I stopped in and picked up a jersey (or two) and asked the clerk helping me if it would be possible to go on a stadium tour. The season wasn’t set to start for another month so I wanted to take in as much PSG as I could while I was in Paris. She informed me that to her knowledge, there wasn’t a tour offered to fans at the time. Well, that has changed now with the launch of PSG Experience.

As with everything PSG does, their new stadium tour is over the top, but in a completely awesome way. The interactive and immersive experience guides visitors from the changing rooms to the dugout. As you’ll see in the video, fans will also be able to see the trophies won over the years and jerseys from PSG’s history. It’s exactly what I was seeking when I asked for a tour years ago.

The tour is broken into three stages—the stadium tour, the history room, and the virtual reality arcade. The stadium tour is about what you would expect but the 3D sound experience takes things to the next level. Working with the Institute of Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music, PSG figured out a way to emulate the matchday experience for fans as they walk out onto the pitch. Now you can hear what it’s like to walk out of the tunnel for a massive UEFA Champions League game. The history room features videos and replays of the greatest moments in PSG history. If you’re a relatively new fan, I highly suggest you spend some time here and learn about PSG’s history prior to 2011. Finally, the VR arcade is bound to be a fan favorite. Visitors can strap on the VR equipment and fly above the Parc des Princes, save penalty kicks from Neymar Jr., and even transport themselves to last season’s match against Olympique de Marseille.

Tickets for each stage of the tour vary in price as do the hours from summer to winter. All of the information can be found at the bottom of this page on PSG’s website. If you visit the Parc, make sure to tweet us a photo and be sure to use #PSGExperience in your post.
