S3E10: Examining PSG’s Tactics Under Thomas Tuchel

One of the biggest complains throughout the Unai Emery-era at Paris Saint-Germain was his inability to adjust the formation of the squad. For two seasons, Emery would deploy a very vanilla 4-3-3 formation regardless of the opponent and hope for the best. On May 14, 2018, that all changed.

On this very special episode of PSG Talking, host Guillaume Delaporte welcomes Simon Piotr from Culture PSG to discuss Thomas Tuchel’s seven months on the job and how he has transformed the way the French giants play. From the attack-minded 4-2-3-1 to a three-man defense, Tuchel has not been afraid to try new things and move players around (like Marquinhos as a defensive midfielder) to get the best out of his star-studded squad. What can we expect as the season progresses especially now that PSG has qualified for the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League? Who are the key players? Guillaume and Simon go deep on tactics and it’s an episode you certainly don’t want to miss.
